Valor Vertical Shaft Impactor (VSI)

Details

PRODUCE UNIFORM, ROAD-MAKING MATERIAL

Usually positioned after your primary or secondary crusher, Vertical Shaft Impactors (VSI) consistently produce cube-shaped material. The shape and size of the final product is a spec required by most modern asphalt contractors including “Superpave.”

During production at the quarry, feed material contacts the VSI’s rotor which rapidly launches it against stationary anvils. This collision causes the rock to break along its natural fault lines.

Compared to compression crushers like jaws and cones, impactors accept larger feed sizes, process higher tonnage and allow customization of particle shape and size.

Superior builds more than a dozen VSI models:

  • Maximum feed size up to 8" (203mm)
  • Product size of 1" – Minus #8 (-2mm)
  • Maximum tonnage rate of 500 STPH (450 MTPH)

Features

01.

FEED TUBE

Externally adjusted, it allows for safe modification of the feedtube without opening the crusher.

02.

VIBRATION PROTECTION

An integrated switch protects the crusher from failure caused by imbalance, while anti-vibration mounts isolate the crusher from surrounding equipment.

03.

SAFETY SWITCH

Cuts power to protect operators during maintenance while a support arm prevents the lid from lowering if hydraulic pressure is lost.

04.

HYDRAULIC LID

Simple hydraulic controls allow safe access to crushing chamber.
